RetirePath Virginia is managed by Commonwealth Savers, formerly known as Virginia529, an independent agency of the Commonwealth of Virginia. Commonwealth Savers and the RetirePath program administrator use data from the Virginia Employment Commission and the U.S. Department of Labor to identify employers that likely meet eligibility criteria for the program.
At registration, employers self-certify their eligibility for RetirePath. Employers that already offer a qualified plan or are otherwise exempt from the Commonwealth’s mandate can certify an exemption.
